hanging around
having just read alex james' delightful "bit of a blur," i've been re-familiarizing myself with blur's back catalog. i had completely forgotten about one-off, brit-pop supergroup me me me and their single "hanging around." the band was comprised of alex james, stephen duffy (duran duran, the lilac time), justin welch (elastica) and some other dude. they only did the one 45, which i believe was in conjunction with a damien hirst exhibit, and faded into obscurity. that said, i've been reminded what a great, fun, bouncy song "hanging around" is and as a christmas gift to you, my dear lj reader, here is the video.
i especially enjoy watching alex bouncing around and flipping his hair about. the song, and band name, are obviously an homage to the immortal jacque dutronc and his signature tune "et moi, et moi, et moi," which you should also dig right now.
